towing a kids bike up hill

Postby driftway » Sun Sep 11, 2011 12:59 pm

Hi,
Interested in your product for my '96 Gary Fisher Joshua Y. It weighs 33 lbs, I am 150 lbs, and my end of ride hill back to the house is about 2.5 miles long. I would like to tow my daughter up the hill using my trail gaitor, on her bike.
Total weight of tow/bike/kid is 4/28/55= 87lbs extra. So with the tow it would be like I weigh 237 lbs...
Would the HT handle this on that hill? I don't mind peddling, but need to make it...
thanks!

Hey driftway,

The Hill Topper should work fine with this setup. We regularly have riders who weigh more than 237lbs get up some pretty steep hills. So you might have to pedal a little harder when you have the kid trailer in tow, but you should do fine. In fact here is a Youtube video of one of our customers doing exactly what your thinking: http://youtu.be/Jx6PMCZ3h0I Enjoy!
