Truly amazing demonstration of the power potential of simple sunlight!

We're having a lot of fun messing around with these new full-size high-tech evacuated solar tube with stainless steel, aluminum and copper coated inner core wall.

Specifications:
Boils 3 liters of water in a few hours of direct sunlight
3 liters of internal volume
71" long
2-3/8" outside diameter (1-5/8" inside diameter)
Double-wall construction with near perfect vacuum between walls creating
"thermos"-grade conduction insulation
Dark coating on inner wall for maximum absorption of solar energy
Stainless steel, aluminum, and copper layering on inner core wall for
maximum reflective heat retention
Incredible insulation properties. Once heated, water will stay hot inside the tube in a dark room over night!
Heats up water even in indirect sunlight

Applications

Physics demonstrations -- boil water, heat other materials using only
the passive energy of the sun

DIY space cooling and heating -- soak up extra room heat in the day,
let it out at night to regulate room temperature with your own system designs

Hobby projects -- endless possibilities for testing solar thermal concepts and
ideas for your own alternative energy research

It's going well. I took your advice with the double container and large outside box. I've actually used a 12-incher here. See the picture below. ONE tube in that box, and a whole lot of padding :!:

Hey Mike! The pic looks great! I just opened the case that another seller shipped to me and he unfortunately did not have the tube packaged correctly. He had used a 3" PVC pipe and wrapped the Solar Tube with 1" diameter bubble wrap then slid the assembly into PVC. Further he did not have enough bubble barrier at least 4" on the ends. The result appears as the heat tube punching a neat hole thru the bottom of the inside glass and the of course it was all broken glass. The only other thing I can suggest is that you perform a 4' drop on sides and on ends if the tube survives...YOU GOT IT!

I just completed my tests on a small 18" tube and they worked as planned. I am now ready to try the 6' tube if that goes well then everything takes off.

Hi Mike

The tube arrived today in one piece! After keep an eye on the UPS Tracking it seems UPS makes a stop about every 300-400 miles and I was concerned about possible damage along the way, but all was good. Packing was excellent the balled newspaper is alot cheaper than the peanuts and you used the right amount. I like the wrapping of the glass tube in the 3/8" bubble inserted into a cardboard tube and then into the two joined 12x12x48" boxes. If you were to ship tubes any further than to me I would recommend a double thickness wall on the joined boxes.

Thanks

Mike
