As some of you SLA battery users have realized when you put your battery pack inside your bikepack, there is a tendency to accidentally turn off the switch. Bumps could also strain the cables and thus could damage the wires inside the chrome plug, which might cause problems (which can be fixed though, see http://esykkelnorge.blogspot.com/2011/0 ... a-kit.html )
So the best place to put your SLA battery is still the rear rack where it is secure and does not strain the cables and wires inside the chrome plug. The downside to doing this is the risk of exposing the battery pack to rain and the cumbersome need to remove it when parking your bike, not to mention the bother of putting it inside a bag (which should be big enough to carry it).
Perhaps, a midway solution that minimizes the need to put the battery pack inside a bag is to use a shoulder strap as illustrated in the pictures here http://esykkelnorge.blogspot.com/2011/0 ... -pack.html. You can also protect the battery pack from rain by covering it with an ordinary helmet rain cover, like this one: http://www.xxl.no/sykkel/personlig-utst ... ze-1056832
What do you think SLA users?
