Power button

How should we make future generations of our kit better?

Power button

When using the power button on a long hill or during an extensive ride into the wind, it can become quite tiresome. Pushing the small button can become quite painful if held down for a long time. A broader button e.g. 1/4 in in diameter would be much more comfortable and easy to use.

Hi all
I join to billphylm. I face the same issue. I have changed 3 buttons for 6 month of riding. I think the first reason to change it is the button had simply stopped work, I think it is for this button does not intended for such rate of amperage, it is too small. I changed the button for the same exacly, just soldered new one. the second have worked about a month. I found the same size button but in rubber elastic. this button was not painful if held down for a long time, but it burned out in a week, I think the reason was the same - the amperage. Now I use the third button, the same as was from CR as I could not find a better.....looking for a swith button than would be softer and bigger. Your recommendation on this issue would be very appreciate.

I agree with you guys. I've gone through three of CR's throttle buttons. They work great when new. But as the hours mount up, their responsiveness lessens, and before you know it, you're killing your thumb to make or maintain contact. Definitely an engineering weakness.

I just received my new power / accelerator cable and noticed CR has changed the power button. CR has replaced the tiny round button with a new bright red, one half inch, square, much higher profile, easy to press button. I took the bike for a quick spin and liked the new button very much. It appears far more responsive to touch, and much more tactile. I plan on a much longer ride this weekend and will follow up with a performance report.

Thanks CR for hearing our plea for a better accelerator.
