16" front wheel coming soon?

How should we make future generations of our kit better?

16" front wheel coming soon?

Have a Haluzak Recumbent that I would like to consider adding one of your electric motor kits. Your competitor Wildnerness Energy offers a 16" wheel, but I would prefer using your kit due to lower weight. Two questions:
1. Do you forsee a 16" wheel size being available in the near future?
2. I see references to 15 mph speeds with the electric motor kit, but no reference to range with the standard battery. Can you provide this?

Hi Wonfreedman,

Thanks so much for comparing/contrasting our kit with the Wilderness Energy kit. That helps us know what you and other readers are trying to find.

1- We will probably offer a much wider range of wheel sizes than the Big Three ( 26/24/700c ) next year sometime. Right now we want to focus on our customer service and production systems first so we can be available to work closely with every customer as we get bigger and things get more complicated.

2-Our current SLA kit has a 10-mile range on flat ground, our lithium is designed to have a 20-mile range. Were you referencing our product page when checking for this info? If you have suggestions about our page content we'd love to hear it. See the page at: http://cleanrepublic.com/hill_topper_electric_bike_conversion_kit.html

I'd vote for 20-inch pre-built HT's - if only for the prospect of sub-$1000 folding electrics.

80/20 20-inch over other sizes:

Alternatively, if you can source the 141mm spokes, I'd be happy building my 20's with Avenir rims and the ProPack.

But my local builders are quoting $100 per wheel because the spokes have to be cut and threaded. And I can't see buying a $150 Hozan to thread 2 wheels worth of spokes.

Big market here - Schwinn Loop or a China-sourced sub $250 folder with a $400/$700 20-inch HT kit...

I was even thinking through a Dahon Glide P8 to use a pre-built 24-inch but it just comes out way too heavy and not very compact.

20-inch would do it. Or the spokes available with the ProPack.

I also vote for a 16" front wheel product. When this becomes available, please let me know so I can purchase it.
